Cookie Policy
This cookie policy is provided pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") to those who access and browse the following website:
http://washout-app.com/ (the "Website")
in order to inform users about the types of cookies used by the Website, the methods for removing and disabling them, as well as the rights that can be exercised under the GDPR. This policy is supplementary to the Privacy Policy available on the Website.
1. WHO IS THE DATA CONTROLLER?
Wash Out S.R.L., with registered office at Via Costanza 1, Milan - 20146, is the controller of your personal data ("Wash Out" or "Controller").
2. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are text files containing information that are stored on your device (i.e., computer, tablet or smartphone) every time you visit a website through a browser. The information encoded in cookies may also include personal data; in particular, the IP address from which the connection is made, a username, an email address, a unique identifier, or the activities performed on the Website by the user. Cookies are divided into: session cookies, i.e., cookies that are automatically deleted from the device at the end of browsing the Website; persistent cookies that remain stored on your device even after the session has ended; first-party cookies (proprietary, i.e., with the same domain as the Website); third-party cookies, which originate from other websites that we host within our website. Finally, cookies can have different purposes (technical, analytical, and profiling) as better specified below.
3. WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE AND FOR WHAT PURPOSES?
First of all, Wash Out uses technical cookies to ensure the proper functionality of the Website (e.g., language selection), provide users with the requested services, and keep track of consents for the installation of cookie types that require it (technical purpose).
The Website, with its own domain, also uses third-party analytical cookies, including Google Analytics, to monitor and verify the user's use of the Website as well as to better understand user needs and optimize the browsing experience (analytical purpose).
This is a feature that helps us understand the experience of users visiting our site (e.g., how much time they spend and on which pages, which links they choose to click, what they do, what they don't like, which websites the user visited before visiting the Website, etc.).
Thanks to Google Analytics, Wash Out is able to know the "traffic" on its website, to obtain aggregated data to perform statistical analyses related to the performance of the Website, to determine the number of times the user opens multimedia content - both audio and video - the number of people who view it and who close it before it has finished, etc. Although the solution provided by Google Analytics makes the IP address of the device from which the user connects pseudo-anonymous (by truncating your IP address so that Wash Out cannot directly identify you), Google may still identify you indirectly by combining/associating other information in its possession (e.g., in case of access to the Website through a browser on which you have logged in via a Google account and/or synchronization of Google services active on your devices). For this reason, we will always request your specific and informed consent before installing Google analytical cookies.
Finally, always based on user consent, Wash Out may also install profiling cookies on your device, which are essential for analyzing the profile, behavior, and actions of those who browse the Website. This type of cookie allows collecting information about users in order to send them promotional communications of their interest on the Website, via email and/or during online browsing on the user's devices (profiling purpose).
Your consent also authorizes us to store information or access information already stored on your terminal equipment solely to allow the functioning of the installed analytical and/or profiling cookies (storage purpose) pursuant to Directive 2002/58/EC of July 12, 2002 and subsequent amendments (E-Privacy Directive).
Wash Out, in compliance with the principle of minimization and privacy by design and by default, ensures that the analytical and profiling cookies on the Website are disabled by default. Analytical and profiling cookies can be activated when you access the Website through the dedicated preference management dashboard accessible from the information banner and, in the same way, can be disabled at any time.
4. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP PERSONAL DATA?
Beyond the timeframes indicated in the tables above regarding the permanence of cookies on your device, Wash Out retains personal data collected through these tracking tools for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they are collected; in particular:
• personal data collected through technical cookies are deleted at most 24 months after the last browsing session;
• personal data collected through analytical cookies are deleted at most 12 months after the last session;
• personal data collected through profiling cookies are processed until you revoke your consent. In any case, profiling activities will only consider data relating to the last 12 months at most.
5. WHAT LEGAL BASIS AUTHORIZES US TO USE YOUR DATA?
The legal basis for the processing of personal data processed through technical cookies (technical purpose) is Wash Out's legitimate interest in ensuring full functionality of the Website. The legal basis for the processing of personal data processed through analytical and/or profiling cookies (analytical and profiling purposes and for the storage of information, or access to information already stored, on the user's terminal equipment), as well as for the transfer of your data to countries that may not ensure the same level of protection of personal data guaranteed by the European Union including the USA, is your specific informed consent, revocable at any time. The processing described above is not mandatory but necessary to ensure full functionality of the Website and/or achieve the purposes for which the data are collected. At any time you can disable the installation of cookies, including technical ones, from your browser as explained below: in this case, however, some features of the Website may not work and/or the above purposes may not be fully achieved.
6. IS YOUR DATA TRANSFERRED TO A COUNTRY OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION AND HOW IS IT PROTECTED?
The use of third-party marketing/profiling cookies may involve the transfer of data outside the territory of the European Union to countries that may not ensure the same level of protection of personal data guaranteed by the European Union (USA). In this case, third parties, as independent data controllers, are responsible for ensuring the adoption of appropriate security measures to protect the personal data of Website Users as reported above. This transfer will take place with your specific and informed consent pursuant to Article 49 of the GDPR, inseparably connected to that for the installation of analytical and/or profiling cookies (as the providers of analytical and profiling cookie services have their registered and/or operational headquarters in the United States and by activating such cookies, your data may be processed on servers in the United States). More information on transfers and guarantees adopted can be requested by contacting Wash Out at the addresses indicated.
